Kentia Palm

(Howea Fosteriana/Belmoriana)

A beautiful, graceful palm from Lord Howe Island. Easy care and suits most situations in the home and in frost-free areas outdoors. It was used extensively in stately homes in England in Victorian times.

Placement

Low to medium light. Very cold tolerant.

Watering

Fairly drought tolerant but prefers to be kept evenly moist. Allow top 5cm to dry out then water well, but do not let it sit in water.

Fertiliser

Feed with 1/2 strength ican Fast Food monthly between October-April.

Best multi planted to create a nice head of leaves as each trunk only produces 2-3 fronds per year. If it gets too big for your home, it can be planted outdoors in a frost free area or under canopy of trees.
