Peace Lily

(Spathiphyllum)

There are many varieties of this popular, easy care plant. They range from the very small ‘Petite’, which are used as aquarium plants to the large and dramatic ‘Sensation’ which can get to 1.8m tall.

Placement

It is a native to the rainforests of South America, so to replicate these growing conditions place it in medium to bright indirect light, not direct sunlight where their leaves will get scorched. They can tolerate very low light but will grow slower.

Watering

Keep moist but not soggy. Water less in the winter but avoid letting it dry out completely. Mist it regularly if possible.

Fertiliser

Feed weekly with liquid fertiliser ican Fast Food from November to April.

Potting

Peace lilies like to be root bound so only repot them when they have clearly exceeded the capacity of the pot. Repot using a good quality indoor mix, this is the best done in Spring. Plants can also be divided into clumps and repotted during this time.
