Philodendron Birkin

This is a relatively newly introduced plant to NZ. It is a compact grower with rounded leaves which display dramatic, variegated, pinstripe lines across its face. Eventually it will grow to 50-80cm wide and high.

Placement

Place in moderate to bright indirect light. Will tolerate dry air but prefers a warm, humid situation, so mist regularly if possible.

Watering

Keep evenly moist but not waterlogged. Make sure it has good drainage and do not allow it to sit in water.

Fertiliser

Liquid feed with ican Fast Food monthly from October-March.

Potting

Repot when the roots appear to have filled the bottom of the pot using quality peat/bark based potting mix that allows good drainage.

Maintenance

Wipe leaves regularly to remove dust or place in the shower and wash with tepid water.
